The Role
Mach'sSummer 2027Engineering Internship, Software is open for future engineers and builders who want to work with us. This is a paid, in-person, 12-week internship.
Depending on your background and team placement, you might work on:
Flight Sciences
— aerodynamics, performance, stability & control, trajectory analysis, and modeling for next-generation aerospace systems
Flight Test Operations
— planning and executing flight tests, developing test cards and procedures, analyzing flight data, and supporting safe and effective test operations
Vehicle Design
— aerodynamic, structural, thermal, and mechanical design of aircraft and aerospace vehicles
Propulsion & Aerothermal Systems
— propulsion integration, thermal management, combustion, and performance analysis for advanced aerospace platforms
Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC)
— guidance algorithms, flight control, navigation, state estimation, and trajectory planning for autonomous and crewed systems
Systems Integration
— integrating airframe, propulsion, avionics, GNC, software, and other subsystems into a complete flight vehicle
Modeling & Simulation
— high-fidelity vehicle models, 6-DOF simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and tools for predicting and validating system performance
Test & Analysis
— developing test plans, instrumentation, analyzing flight and ground-test data, and using results to improve vehicle design and performance
What We're Looking For
Enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in aerospace or a related engineering discipline
Intellectual curiosity and the drive to own problems end-to-end
Genuine interest in defense technology, national security, or the future of autonomous systems
Ability to complete in an in-person 12-week internship in one of our offices in summer 2027
Additional Requirements
Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Pay Range
$30—$55 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
